This first solo project of film scholar Alexa L. Foreman, Scandal is a re-telling of the headline-making 1936 child custody trial of movie goddess Mary Astor and the fall-out from the release of her private diaries. A story of sex, jealousy and bold-face names that kept Depression-era America on the edge of its seat, it could just as easily play today. Includes a post-screening discussion with Alexa Foreman, head of research at Turner Classic Movies for more than 20 years.
