Katharine Hepburn Cultural Arts Center

Board of Trustees
The operations of the Katharine Hepburn Cultural Arts Center, a private, non-profit 501(c)3 corporation, will be overseen by a newly-formed Board of Trustees.  Trustees include Robert Welsh, David Frankel, Ann Nyberg, Elaine Staplins, J. H. Torrance Downes, Edith Gengras, Clayton Spencer, Sandra Chase, Pauline Kezer and Carol McFate.  By-laws regarding the functioning of the Board have been approved and are currently in place.  The construction of the facility itself will continue to be overseen by the Town Hall Restoration Building Committee.  Members of that committee include Chair Walter Hirsch, Wilma Asch, Elaine Staplins, Roland Laine, Velma Thomas and J. H. Torrance Downes. The design team is headed by Architect Tom MacDonald of East Wharf Architects in Madison, Connecticut.  The Katharine Hepburn Cultural Arts Center is currently under construction with an anticipated opening date during the summer of 2008.

In an effort to seek a uniquely qualified person to oversee the Katharine Hepburn Cultural Arts Center, the Board of Trustees has acquired the services of several arts and theater specialists to achieve their goals in the start-up of this exciting project.  The firm retained to support the search for an Executive Director is Albert Hall & Associates LLC.
