Board of
Trustees
The operations of
the Katharine Hepburn Cultural Arts Center, a
private, non-profit 501(c)3 corporation, will be
overseen by a newly-formed Board of Trustees.
Trustees include Robert Welsh, David Frankel,
Ann Nyberg, Elaine Staplins, J. H. Torrance
Downes, Edith Gengras, Clayton Spencer, Sandra
Chase, Pauline Kezer and Carol McFate. By-laws
regarding the functioning of the Board have been
approved and are currently in place. The
construction of the facility itself will
continue to be overseen by the Town Hall
Restoration Building Committee. Members of that
committee include Chair Walter Hirsch, Wilma
Asch, Elaine Staplins, Roland Laine, Velma
Thomas and J. H. Torrance Downes. The design
team is headed by Architect Tom MacDonald of
East Wharf Architects in Madison, Connecticut.
The Katharine Hepburn Cultural Arts Center is
currently under construction with an anticipated
opening date during the summer of 2008.
In an effort to
seek a uniquely qualified person to oversee the
Katharine Hepburn Cultural Arts Center, the
Board of Trustees has acquired the services of
several arts and theater specialists to achieve
their goals in the start-up of this exciting
project. The firm retained to support the
search for an Executive Director is Albert Hall
& Associates LLC.
