Hepburn and Wayne in Rooster Cogburn

Katharine Hepburn came to know Academy Award winning Producer Hal Wallis when she made the pictures “The Rainmaker” with Burt Lancaster and “Rooster Cogburn” with John Wayne. But long before that Wallis did “Casablanca” with Humphrey Bogart and Ingrid Bergman.

The prolific Wallis made 400 pictures in a five decade period.

In this post is a video Hepburn at the age of 80 made for, and to Wallis, as part of an all-star tribute that took place opening night of the first American Film Festival in 1987.

Hepburn had great admiration for the famed Producer as you will see in her statements.
