Talk about your front row seat. Yep, smack dab on the stage for this magnificent brunch.

This was one of the gala’s silent auction items from our big event under the tent in October. It was “Eight at The Kate” A grand brunch prepared by “A Thyme To Cook” of Stonington. Drinks for the guests were provided by Shore Discount Liquors…also included tickets to The MET simulcast at the theater in this case it was the opera “Turandot.” This was all donated in honor of Marcelle Guertin.

The lucky winners were David and Pam Winstead and their 6 guests.

Those in the photo from “A Thyme To Cook” are; Cathleen Aquino, Dave Thomas and Cindy Jackson.

The menu was delicious, even the printing of the menu was beautiful.

Just so you know, our gala will be an annual event in the fall, so you too could win this prize next year.

See you at “The Kate!”

We are so excited about the turn out last evening for a pre-open Broadway tunes free outdoor concert at The Kate. More than one-thousand came to the Old Saybrook Town Green with their lawn chairs and their blankets and their picnics and enjoyed hearing the Salt Marsh Opera. The music echoed around town and off the magnificent National Historic Landmark Status building that is now the Katharine Hepburn Cultural Arts Center. The ball is now rolling for the center and events are lined up well into late spring of next year.

Our thanks to Trustee, Bob Czepiel and friend Francine DuVerger for the photos of the concert.

On Sunday, there will be another free event, an Open House for all that will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Come see what so many have worked to hard to bring to the state of Connecticut.

We can’t wait to see you at The Kate!
