Katharine Hepburn Knitting

The same picture of Katharine Hepburn knitting. The one to the left says 1935, the photo below is marked 1938. This photo is of unknown origin. We do know Hepburn knitted on movie sets in her down time, much like some of the Hollywood stars of today including Julia Roberts.

Sitting crossed-legged in high-waisted trousers in full make-up knitting,how “Kate.”

Incidentally a while back Lace Style made up a pattern called the “Katharine Hepburn Cardigan, you can find the pattern here www.knitpicks.com It has been copied by knitters all over the world. I know this because I’m a knitter and like Hepburn I sit on the floor to make my creations.

    1935′s wrong. The correct date is 1938. It’s a photo shot on the set of BRINGING UP BABY.

    By the way….there’s another publicity shot taken on the set of Bringing Up Baby, where Miss H is standing amid the all-male crew, holding a rifle! From knitting to firearms…. :-)
