Just got this wonderful notice on Facebook that I wanted to share with all of you. When The Kate came together some seven years ago, the event below was just the kind of thing that we wanted to have happen at this wonderful venue. Along with music and drama and comedy etc., we wanted to reach out to others to help.
This will be an amazing event to help folks in Connecticut. Please come and support this!

“Hello Ann,
Some friends and I are producing and performing in a concert at The Kate on Dec 11. It will be a fundraiser to benefit The Shoreline Soup Kitchen. The group(Shoreline Acoustic Underground) has produced 2 Shoreline Soup Kitchen CDs so far…Food for Thought and Soups On..all money from cds and soup kitchen concerts go to soup kitchen, No one but the soup kitchen gets the money..So far the Group has raised around $14,000 for the Soup Kitchen…
We are joining our friends Brian Wolf and Paul Neri in producing the concert. We(The Small Town Concert Series) have produced about 20 shows locally in the last 3 years. Our STCS Band leader: Lauren Agnelli (Grammy Nominated/Washington Squares) played on the last cd with a band she recorded an album with(2 time Grammy Winners : BRAVE COMBO) is joining Paul Neri, Lara Herscovitch,Ebin- Rose, Moving Target, Jim and Liz Beloff (Flea Market Music-Ukuleles) and more for the Concert @ the Kate.
We of course, are hoping to get some help with publicity, the more people we get to come and buy tickets the more money for the soup kitchen. You must get requests like this all the time. Times are hard, the need for The Soup Kitchen is very real! No one Should go hungry in our country of plenty. A public figure such as yourself makes the difference in getting information about this concert to the public…..We would appreciate any help you can give!
I’ll get you a copy of the press release when it’s finished, just thought I would send this message to see if we can get some help with publicity!”
Thanks so Much!
